You knew exactly what to say and do. Still, it fell flat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\"I\u2019m terrible at selling.\"<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>My coach looks at me as I say it.<br>And I <strong>feel<\/strong> it in my whole body \u2013 that uncomfortable feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She pauses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\"Tell me about a time when you were supposed to sell something and it didn\u2019t go well.\"<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Back to the dark conference room.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m instantly transported back to that room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udca1 <strong>A dark conference room. An important presentation. A boss who creates discomfort even before the meeting begins.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m sitting across from my boss. By my side \u2013 the sales manager. On the call \u2013 my boss\u2019s boss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am presenting our <strong>5-year plan for growth and development<\/strong>.<br>I have prepared. I\u2019ve pressure-tested the material. I <strong>know<\/strong> that our strategy is strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But something feels off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It started as soon as my boss entered the room, even before the meeting had begun. What she does is turn off the lights in the room. Sits directly across from me at the table. Leans back in her chair. Barely says hello.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I give my presentation, but the feeling of sitting in a <strong>interrogation chair<\/strong> intensifies with every passing minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Min chefs-chef tackar f\u00f6r genomg\u00e5ngen och l\u00e4mnar m\u00f6tet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then it happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udca5 <strong>\"Never do this again!\"<\/strong> My boss raises her voice, frustrated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\"This was a disaster, and now I look bad in front of my boss.\"<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then she leaves the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I stay seated \u2013 shocked, the sales manager sits silently next to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When an event creates a new truth.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>That moment shaped me more than I realized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After that meeting, my strategy for future sales presentations became to prepare myself <strong>even more<\/strong>.<br>To practise <strong>harder.<\/strong>.<br>To analyse <strong>down to<\/strong> the smallest detail in my material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But no matter how much I prepared, that feeling remained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udca1 <strong>I thought my problem lay in my knowledge and skills.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought:<br><em>\"If I just learn more, if I just prepare better, then it will feel safe.\"<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But during coaching, I realised <strong>that the problem was at a different, higher level in the Change Pyramid \u2013 in my own internal beliefs.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The right level in change creates real development.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It was <strong>not<\/strong> my knowledge of sales that was the problem.<br>It was <strong>what I was telling myself before these situations.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During my failed presentations, the thoughts spun:<br>\ud83d\uded1 <em>\"I'm nervouse!\"<\/em><br>\ud83d\uded1 <em>\"I don't want be here!\"<\/em><br>\ud83d\uded1 <em>\"Get me out of here!\"<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in the moments when I actually succeeded, my inner dialogue was completely different:<br>\u2705 <em>\u201dYou got this!\u201d<\/em><br>\u2705 <em>\"You Own this!\"<\/em><br>\u2705 <em>\u201dEnjoy!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udca1 <strong>We often think we need more tools, but sometimes it\u2019s about changing our inner belief.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If I had only focused on practicing sales techniques, the underlying problem would still have remained.<br><strong>To change my results, I had to work at a higher level in the pyramid \u2013 what I say to myself.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How you can apply this in your everyday life:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve shared a personal experience, but the insight applies to <strong>all changes<\/strong> and challenges \u2013 both at the individual and organizational level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next time you notice that <strong>something feels off<\/strong>, pause and reflect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd0d <strong>Is the problem really where you think it is?<\/strong><br>What if it actually lies <strong>one level above?<\/strong> in the Change Pyramid \u2013 what could be the cause then?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd0d <strong>What happens if you shift your perspective?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What is happening? <em>externally<\/em>? What external factors are influencing the situation?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What is happening? <em>internally<\/em>? How do you react? What beliefs and behaviors are driving your actions?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udca1 <strong>For me, the solution was to work on my inner dialogue \u2013 rather than diving even deeper into the details.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udcac <strong>Reflect for yourself:<\/strong><br>\ud83d\udd39 Is there something in your daily life where you haven\u2019t been able to achieve the desired result, despite trying in several different ways?
