Have you ever said something in a meeting and, the very next second, wished you could simply disappear? Or taken a step forward — and immediately started analysing everything you did and said?
In this episode of Confident Leadership. In Colour. I explore a simple yet powerful shift in perspective that can strengthen your confidence: learning to zoom out.
When we zoom in too closely on a single moment, it can feel huge, embarrassing, or decisive. But when we lift our gaze and see the situation in a broader perspective, something shifts. The intensity of the drama softens, and the courage to take the next step grows.
In the episode, I share personal stories about situations where I have felt uncomfortable myself — moments that felt significant at the time, but which in hindsight have mostly become lessons and stories to smile about.
We also talk about the question that often helps me break the cycle of over-analysing. And about the power of placing things in a longer perspective — for example, how they might feel ten years from now.
In this episode we explore amongst all:
- why uncomfortable moments often feel bigger than they really are
- how a longer perspective can reduce self-doubt
- why confidence is built through action, not perfection
- how small steps forward strengthen your “confidence muscles”
